2010 MICHELIN GUIDE
RECOMMENDED Exposed brick
and steel I-beams dominate the interior of this former 1912 Jackson
Brewery building, where the industrial vibe is all SoMa and the
flavors are otherworldly. More exotic than piquant, the spices used
here lend inspired creativity to Bangkok-style street food. Grab a
seat at the long, communal table (quiet types will prefer the
mezzanine), and sip a crisp lemongrass cocktail while you peruse the
casual yet complex menu. Satay selections far outshine the more
conventional chicken-on-a-stick; Chinese sausage and star anise plum
sauce add zest to blue crab roll; and pork lovers will not want to
miss the khao moo daeng, crispy house-cured pork belly and roasted
pork with star anise gravy.
Fiery
condiments are available for heat seekers.
